Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi received a warm welcome during his 3-day official visit to Pakistan. Upon his arrival at the Prime Minister’s House, he was greeted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with a red-carpet welcome and a guard of honor. The Pakistan Army presented this honor, accompanied by the anthems of Islamabad and Tehran.
During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif introduced President Raisi to his cabinet members. In a symbolic gesture aligned with International Earth Day, both leaders planted a sapling at the Prime Minister’s House.
This visit marks a significant diplomatic development, as it is the first by any foreign leader to Pakistan after the February 8 polls. The agenda includes discussions to strengthen Pakistan-Iran ties and enhance cooperation in various fields. Despite ongoing Iran-Israel tension, the focus remains on regional collaboration and addressing common challenges, including terrorism.
