Max the cat has received an honorary degree of “Doctor of Litter-ature” from Vermont State University. The university’s Castleton campus honored Max for his companionship adn presence on campus, rather than his hunting or napping skills.
Max, a beloved tabby cat, has been a part of the Castleton community for years, bringing joy to students and staff alike. Owned by Ashley Dow, who lives near the university, Max has become a familiar face on campus, often joining students on tours and posing for selfies.
According to Ashley Dow, Max decided to explore the campus on his own and quickly became a favorite among students. He has been a social butterfly on campus for about four years, brightening the days of anyone he encounters.
Despite not being able to attend the graduation ceremony, Max’s honorary degree will be delivered to Ashley Dow, who is fondly known as Max’s mom. Max continues to roam the campus, spreading happiness wherever he goes.
